Srinagar: The Directorate of Education has sent a notice to all educational institutes in Kashmir Valley directing them to make arrangements for screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming teacher’s day address.
Pertinently, on the directions of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the DoE has asked schools to “make available requisite number of televisions, set-top box connections, projectors, screens, amplifiers and generator sets or inverters on hiring basis, if the same are not available in the school.”
Director School Education, Mir Tariq, said that he has already directed the authorities to arrange TV sets so that children could watch the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s live address on the screens from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
“In Jammu and Kashmir only the students from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Leh district will have live interaction with the Prime Minister, rest of the schools in the state have been provided TV sets to only watch his address,” Mir said adding that out of 28 States Modi will have live interaction with the students of 7 states and Jammu and Kashmir is one among them.
School authorities are reportedly sending circulars to parents informing them of the extended timings for the day.
Chief Education Officer (Shopian) Muhammad Abdullah Shah said that television sets and generators for all the schools of the district have been procured and all other arrangements have been made for children to watch the live address of Narendra Modi in schools.
“The main function will be held at DIET Shopian which will be presided by District Development Commissioner Bashir Ahmed Bhat while the principal DIET Abdul Hamid Kumar will be the Guest of Honour,” he said.
Chief Education Officer (Srinagar), Munshi Muhammad Javid, said that it is an administrative decision and the Directorate of School Education has warned schools against any laxity in implementing the orders.
On September 5, PM Modi will interact with Delhi school children in person and via satellite link with children at National Informatics Centres in Leh, Port Blair, Silchar, Imphal, Bhuj, Dantewada and Thirumalai.
