PULWAMA — Continuing a sustained crackdown on local drug trafficking networks, Pulwama Police on Friday attached a residential property valued at 15.85 lakh rupees belonging to an alleged drug peddler.
The single-storey house, located in Karnabal Samboora, belongs to Shabir Ahmad Khan.
According to authorities, an investigation revealed that the home was an illegally acquired asset funded through the proceeds of illicit narcotics trafficking and was highly disproportionate to Shabir Khan's known sources of income.
The seizure was executed under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985. The action is directly connected to a prior case (FIR No. 38/2024) registered at Police Station Kakapora.
Police officials stated that the property attachment is part of a broader, ongoing strategy to dismantle the financial infrastructure that sustains the local drug trade by targeting assets created through illicit means.
"Such measures are aimed at not only bringing offenders to justice but also depriving them of the illegal gains generated through drug trafficking," the Pulwama Police said in a statement, reaffirming their commitment to taking stringent action against individuals involved in narcotics-related activities.
