SRINAGAR — A 26-year-old youth, who hails from south Kashmir's Tral area and was working in Canada, was laid to rest in his native place days after his death.

Locals told the news agency CNS that the deceased, Mehran Ahmad Mir (26), had gone to Canada recently in pursuit of his work. They said that Mir died there due to a 'heart attack' on July 30 and his body reached his home in Civil Lines, Tral today (Monday) for the last rites.

The deceased’s Namaz-e-Janaza was offered at Astana-e-Alia Shahi Hamdan after the Zuhr prayers and was buried in his ancestral graveyard.

A pall of gloom descended on the whole village of the deceased after his death and was interred amid moist eyes. “His untimely death has shaken us all as he was in his prime youth with more to see yet,” said the locals.
