Srinagar: Chief Interlocutor, Dileep Padgaonkar, Thursday revealed that their report which had been submitted to the Union Home Ministry last October would be made public in April this year.
Padgaonkar said, “I’m scheduled to meet Home Minister P Chidambaram on January 27 where we would discuss the report. The report would be made public in April.”
Asked why delay in making the report occurred, he said, “Whole government machinery is busy with elections in UP, Punjab and other states. As soon elections will be over the report will be made public. We are making our best efforts,” he added.
The interlocutors - Dileep Padgaonkar, M M Ansari and Radha Kumar - had submitted their report on October 12 last year after visiting the state and interacting with all stakeholders.
The Chief Interlocutor revealed that they were trying to rope in separatist leaders and invite them in seminars. “We are planning to organise seminars throughout the country to make awareness about Kashmir issue. We intend to invite separatists in these seminars,” he said.
Asked whether they have started any negotiation with the separatists in this regard, Padgaonkar said, “No we haven’t invited anybody yet. But we are in touch with them.”
