PULWAMA — In a significant action against drug trafficking, Pulwama Police have made significant strides, culminating in the arrest of four notorious drug peddlers. Acting on directives from SHO Pulwama, a police team from Police Station Pulwama established a strategic checkpoint at Chatripora, Pulwama, leading to a pivotal apprehension.
During the routine checking, Shahid Salam Ganie, son of Abdul Salam Ganie, and resident of Sirnoo, was caught with a contraband substance, sparking a detailed investigation. A case under FIR number 108/2024 was promptly registered at Police Station Pulwama, setting in motion a meticulous inquiry.
Subsequent to Ganie's disclosure and the evidence unearthed during the probe, law enforcement conducted raids across multiple locations. This concerted effort resulted in the confiscation of approximately 80 grams of a heroin-like substance.
As a consequence, three additional suspects were detained. They have been identified as Abrar Farooq, Tariq Ahmad Ganie, and Fayaz Ahmad Wani, residents of Prichoo and Chandgam respectively.
The investigation continues, with authorities anticipating further recoveries and arrests as they intensify efforts to stem the tide of drug trafficking in the area.
