
SRINAGAR — A 16-year-old girl was rescued after she jumped into the River Jhelum in Kakapora area of southern Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday.
According to official sources cited by a local news agency, the girl attempted suicide by leaping into the river. Prompt action by local residents and law enforcement officers led to her rescue.
The authorities, including the police, swiftly responded to the incident and retrieved the girl from the water. She was subsequently rushed to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Kakapora for medical attention. Reports suggest her condition is stable.
