SRINAGAR — Election Commission of India (ECI) has invited all political parties across the country to participate in a meeting in New Delhi, officials said on Friday.

An official while speaking to the Srinagar-based news agency KDC, said that the Election Commission of India has invited all major political parties in India including JK PDP and JKNC to participate in a meeting at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on January 16.

He said, "The Election Commission of India has developed a prototype to enable remote voting for migrant workers and students and called an all-party meeting on January 16 to demonstrate the technology designed to address low voter turnout and to seek feedback."

"The purpose of the meeting is the demonstration of EVMs & VVPATs by ECI," he added.

"You are requested to provide a list of the attendees willing to attend the event at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi to this office for onward transmission to the Election Commission of India," reads a letter sent by Chief Electoral Officer J-K to Presidents/General Secretaries of PDP and NC.
