SRINAGAR — A scooty-rider was killed after being allegedly hit by a vehicle of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Humhama area in central Kashmir's Budgam district on Saturday.
An unnamed police official, quoted by the news agency KDC, said that an elderly man identified as Nazir Ahmad Bhat (56) son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat of Samerbugh Lasjan was hit by a Casper (vehicle) of Sashastra Seema Bal's 14 Battalion. "The man died on the spot," he said.
He said that the body has been shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for medico-legal formalities.
The police officer said that a case in this regard has been registered and further investigation has been set into motion.
