KUPWARA — A PDD daily-wager lost his life while repairing an electric transformer in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The incident occurred on Sunday at Jada village falling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Karnah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, sources from Power Development Department told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

They said that 38-year-old Muhammad Khalid, son of Raja Naseem, a resident of Kandi became another addition to the long list of on-duty casual labourers working in the Power Development Department (PDD) to have lost lives in the line of duty.

The victim was electrocuted to death while repairing an electric transformer.

Sources in PDD said that over 80 daily wagers have been electrocuted to death in the past decade.
