Security forces launched a search and cordon operation in Newa area of Pulwama district following information about presence of rebels in the area, a police official said.
[youtube src="5amm_vc-S10"/] He said the rebels hiding inside a house were asked to surrender but they choose to open fire on the security forces' positions.
The security forces retaliated, which resulted in the killing of two rebels.
Two security force personnel were hurt in the operation, the official said adding the identity and group affiliation of the rebels was being ascertained.
