Experience – (Essential for Medical Candidates):
》14 years teaching and / or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto;
OR
》12 years teaching and / or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the degree of DM/M.Ch. ( 2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective disciplines/ Subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto;
OR
》11 years teaching and / or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized degree of DM / M.Ch. in the respective discipline/ Subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Experience – (Essential for Non-Medical Candidates):
》14 years teaching and / or research experience in a discipline / subject concerned after obtaining the Doctorate Degree.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Experience – Essential for Medical Candidates (General Disciplines):
》03 years teaching and/ or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Experience – Essential for Medical Candidates (Super Specialty Disciplines):
》One year’s teaching and / or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the Degree of DM/M.Ch (2 years or 5 years recognized course after MBBS) or qualification recognized equivalent thereto. However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the 3 years recognized degree of DM/M.Ch. or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Experience – Essential for Non- Medical Candidates:
》03 years teaching and / or research experience in a discipline / subject concerned after obtaining the Doctorate Degree.
Scale of pay and allowance:
Professor = Rs.37400 - 67000 + GP-10000
Assistant Professor = Rs.15600 - 39100 + GP-6600
Dearness Allowances & House Rent Allowance/ City Compensatory Allowance:
DA/HRA/CCA shall be allowed to the faculty members at the same rates and on the same pattern at which such allowances are admissible to State Government Employees.
Clinical Research Allowance:
Faculty members shall be paid Clinical Research Allowance at a uniform rate of Rs.2500/- per month. The CRA shall be admissible subject to such conditions and norms as may be prescribed by the Governing Body of the Institute.
Non-Practicing Allowance:
The faculty members shall be allowed NPA as admissible under rules and as per orders issued in this behalf from time to time by the State Government.
Age as on 01.01.2015:
Not more than 50 years. However, it is relaxable for Government Servants or otherwise exceptionally qualified candidates by the Competent Authority on the recommendations of the Apical Selection Committee. Upper age limit up to 5 years relaxable for SC, ST and 3 years in the case of OBC candidates. In respect of SKIMS employees the upper age limit shall be determined in terms of Govt. Order No. 09 –SKIMS of 2013 dated 08.03.2013.

The effective date up to which the requisite Experience must be completed: June 30th, 2015
General Information:
Eligible candidates are required to send their applications (in triplicate) on the prescribed “Application Form-I” which can be downloaded below along with the bank draft of Rs. 3000/- in the name of Director Finance, SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar Kashmir (India) so as to reach the Sr. Administrative Officer (Policy) SKIMS, Srinagar-190011 up-to July 31, 2015 (3.00 PM).
1. Incomplete applications and those received after the last date for submission of applications will not be considered.
2. The appointment is non-practicing and the appointees are not allowed to undertake any kind of private practice.
3. The selected candidates shall have to sign a declaration that they shall not apply for any post outside the Institute for five years.
4. Applications from in-service candidates should be routed through proper channel with “No Objection Certificate” by the Head of the Institution where the candidate is presently working.
5. Applications must be supported by all the certificates, testimonials & reprints of publications which will be scrutinized by the committee framed for the purpose. The decision of the committee shall be binding on the candidates.
6. For the post of Professor/ Assistant Professor the candidate should have at least 10/02 Scientific Publications respectively in the Indexed National/International Medical Journals (s) at his /her credit.
Eligibility:
01. Assistant Professors / Associate Professors with 03 years & Additional Professors with 04 years regular service in the respective grades in SKIMS are eligible to be promoted as Associate Professor, Additional Professor and Professor respectively.
02. No. candidate shall be considered in absentia for AMPS. 03. The candidates should have at least 4 scientific publications in the indexed national/ international medical journals(S) at his / her credit after last promotion, which makes him/her eligible for the AMPS to the next higher post out of which at least one publication should be as author or first Co-author.
Limitations on number of persons to be promoted:
100% of Assistant Professors, Associate Professor and Additional Professors (with the required eligibility service) can be promoted to the grade of Associate Professor, Additional Professor and Professor respectively, if they are found fit by Selection Committee.
The effective date up to which eligibility service of 03 years and 04 years respectively must be completed is ending June, 2015.
1. In-service candidates pursing DM/ M.Ch. course possessing prescribed qualification and experience if selected for the post advertised shall have to quit DM/ M.Ch. before joining the new post.
