The Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) is a 5 year fellowship that offers financial assistance to students belonging to minority communities such as Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi communities for pursuing (Full Time) studies leading to M.Phil / Ph.D. degree in Arts (Humanities), Social Sciences, Sciences, Technology & Engineering and not availing of the benefit of JRF of UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR NET.
The Fellowship will cover all Universities/Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) and section 3 of the UGC Act alongwith those which are not under the purview of UGC and will be implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs through UGC for students belonging to the minority communities. The fellowship under Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students will be on the pattern of UGC Fellowships awarded to research students pursuing regular and full time M. Phil and Ph.D courses. The fellowship holders under this Fellowship will be known as Ministry of Minority Affairs scholars.

About Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF)
- Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) for Minority Students is conducted and sponsored by Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA) and the students have to apply online using the MANF Application form 2015 (Online).
- MANF is only applicable for post graduate students who belong to the Minority Community (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) & Jains) are eligible for the Fellowship to pursue higher studies such as regular and full time M.Phil/ Ph.D. degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology.
- Motto of the Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students is to provide integrated five year fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students from minority communities to pursue higher studies such as M. Phil and Ph.D.
- Every year total fellowships offered for all subjects are 756.
- 3% fellowships are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates belonging to Minority Candidates.
- Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students covers all Universities/ Institutions recognized by the University
Grants Commission (UGC) and also which are not under the purview of UGC. It will be implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA) through UGC for students belonging to the minority communities.
- The fellowship holders under this scheme will be known as MOMA scholars.
- The tenure of fellowship is initially for two years under the MANF Scheme.
