Srinagar: HDFC Bank has decided to keep all its branches in Kashmir Division open on October 3, 2014 for the convenience of customers. Bank has also decided to keep branches functional for full day on 4th October (Saturday). The step has been taken to avoid likely inconvenience to customers in view of series of Holidays. Bank has already made 35 out of 38 branches operational in Kashmir. All branches are now functional in Srinagar.
Zubair Iqbal, Vice President & Circle Head, Jammu & Kashmir, HDFC Bank said, “In the aftermath of the calamity, our immediate priority was to ensure resumption of operations for our customers. We were among the first bank to resume operations in the state. We have managed to get most of the branches functional and in the days to come, the remaining branches and ATMs will also be operational. We have also set up a dedicated Toll Free number to help our customers in the state to access information related to their accounts and services. We will continue to take various customer friendly measures to help our customers in this hour of crisis and catastrophe.”
Ravi Narayanan, branch banking head - West & North, HDFC Bank said, “We stand by the people of Jammu & Kashmir in this tragic time. We have resumed operations, even as we assess the extent of loss, to ensure our customers have access to banking services. We would like to assure our customers that all customer records are safe and intact.”
