Srinagar: The first batch of Hajj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir are expected to arrive at Srinagar airport on October 11, Saturday, for which the government has reportedly finalized all required arrangements.
In this regard, the Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Salma Hamid convened a meeting of Divisional Officers for ensuring adequate arrangements to facilitate their arrival and subsequent smooth journey to their destinations.
During the deliberations, the Additional Commissioner directed the officers that adequate facilities including providing of accommodation, boarding and lodging, uninterrupted electricity, safe drinking water, sanitation in and around the Hajj House and better transport facilities from Airport to Hajj House and to their destinations should be provided to all Hajj pilgrims at the Airport including for those from Jammu and Ladakh regions.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Director Airport Authority, Joint Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Joint Director Information, Kashmir, Shafqat Iqbal, Senior Superintendent of Police Budgam, Hajj Officer Srinagar, representative of Police department and other officers.
