Srinagar: Popular radio station - the 92.7 BIG FM, which remained off air for three weeks due to devastative floods is back on air from a makeshift arrangement.
The 92.7 Big FM studios in Karan Nagar locality, was hit by floods while its communication facilities at Radio Kashmir were equally devastated.
Sources said it would take a few more days to resume activities from the Karan Nagar facility as the technical equipment was being replaced.
The station went on air with RJ Nasir interacting with listeners through SMS as the 92.7 Big FM phone lines continue to be out of order. Nasir took former Health Officer Dr Shafqat Khan on air for expert opinion on health. RJ Sameen is also going on air.
The Station Head Muzaffar Shah: “We didn’t wait for our own studio to get ready but resumed the affairs from where ever it was possible at an earliest in these testing times when we want to reach out to our listeners.”
The 92.7 Big FM Programming Head Abrar Zargar said “It feels great to be back on air and we will do our best to serve the people of the Kashmir in whatever capacity we can.”
