Srinagar: While terming the imposition of conditions and restrictions over the international aid for the flood hit Kashmir by the Indian government as inhuman act, Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani revealed that on our appeal many Muslim countries, international Islamic organizations and personalities offered the large scale relief for the flood affected people of Jammu & Kashmir but India is placing unjustifiable restrictions in its way and she doesn’t want this relief to reach the people through us.
Geelani said that if this relief would have reached to the people, the rehabilitation of the flood affected people could have been completed in few months but India wants to make Kashmiris as dependents on its own aid so that their self-esteem and self-respect will get harmed and their freedom sentiment will get neutralized.
Geelani although expressed his satisfaction and happiness that many Muslim countries and international organizations including Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey have taken serious notice of the devastation caused by the flood fury in Kashmir and they have offered help for that but, he expressed sorrow that India is politicizing this human issue and she doesn’t want that the sufficient aid should reach Jammu & Kashmir people. “It is the set plan of the policy makers of India that Kashmir should remain economically instable for years together and people should remain totally dependent even for the granule on the Indian government”.
Geelani said that the stopping or restricting of the international aid is equal to enforcing the economic blockade against the oppressed Kashmiris which doesn’t have any moral and constructional justification and it is the worst kind of human rights violation.
“It is alright that the people of Kashmir don’t accept the forced occupation of India and they are struggling against it but it is in no way right to subject the people to the vengeance at this time and force them to the starvation”, Geelani said.
The hurriyat chairman however thanked those Indian people who have human hearts and non-government organizations, who want to send their help for the flood, hit people of the Jammu & Kashmir and said that although the Kashmir has suffered huge loss beyond the estimation so the need of the hour is to send more and more relief to the Jammu & Kashmir.
