Srinagar, February 23: Police in Jammu and Kashmir have started an investigation to find and arrest the person allegedly responsible for spreading false information on social networking website Facebook and instant chat messenger WhatsApp. “Some anti-social and mischievous elements have uploaded a frivolous message on WhatsApp chat messenger and Facebook regarding police strike being observed on March 15”, a police spokesperson said on Sunday. He said that police have taken cognizance of the mischief and a First Investigation Report (FIR) has been registered in this regard under the Information Technology Act and the Ranbir Penal Code at police station Shergari, Srinagar.
The official said that police have constituted a team to crack the case on urgent basis. He said that the culprit will be arrested after being tracked.
