Srinagar, August 19: Authorities have denied passport to a man and his son of Srinagar city citing reason that one of their relatives was allegedly involved in militancy related activities around year 1995. The duo wish to perform Hajj pilgrimage, but the passport issue has become a hurdle, they claim.
“For two years, the authorities issued Passport (J7214834) in my favour but now they are neither willing to extend my passport nor ready to issue a new passport in favour of my son”, said Ghulam Nabi Malik.
He said that his uncle, about whom the authorities are talking about, was arrested in 1995 but was later declared innocent and released by TADA court.
Malik appealed the authorities to look into the matter thoroughly and put him to ‘justice’.
