Srinagar, Apr 03: Kashmir students at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGBSU) Monday sought official inquiry into the beating of a boy by Jammu students in the college canteen. Boycotting classes, students held demonstrations against administration against what they said shrouding of the issue. Reports said it all started with an intrigue between few students of Jammu and Kashmir division. “The Jammu students after the intrigue tried to avenge Kashmiris by eve teasing the girls who had gone to picnic. After doing the unpardonable act, they now beat a student to pulp in the canteen under the noses of authorities,” a group of students told Greater Kashmir. They alleged that locals from nearby areas were roaming in the campus of the Varsity and supporting the Jammu students in harassing Kashmiris. “This is not for the first time we were victims of harassment, outsiders usually roam the campus and harass us day in and day out,” they said. When contacted Vice Chancellor, Prof I A Hamal denied that any such incident happened in the University. “Journalists must do some positive work. Nothing has happened,” he said. -GKNN
