Srinagar: Senior separatist leader and Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has refused to take security from Delhi Police saying, that the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir were living without security and there was no reason for him to take it from the government. “More than seven lakh armed forces have occupied our state which has put the lives of common citizen at risk. Therefore I have no reason to take the security for myself,” the ailing leader was quoted as saying by the spokesman of the Hurriyat. He said a contingent of Delhi Police had approached Geelani on Wednesday morning to offer security while his stay in Delhi. The spokesperson said that after the recent attack on Geelani in Delhi, some officers of Delhi Police showed up at his Malviya Nagar residence and offered him security. “However Geelani sahib refused,” he added.
