Srinagar, Dec 1: The vice-president of Minority Commission of India today met Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his residence and discussed the alleged Christian conversion row in detail.
The delegation headed by Dr H. T Sanglani shared his concerns about the Christian minority living in the valley with the Mirwaiz.
The Hurriyat (M) chairman, who is also chairman of Mutaheda Majlis Ulma, assured the delegation members that the Christian minorities were safe in the Valley and will be protected at any cost.
However, Mirwaiz informed the delegation about some NGO’s who were working clandestinely to convert local Muslim youth to Christianity by exploiting them with money and other allurements.
The Mirwaiz also asserted the delegation that the people of the valley are peace loving and believe in communal harmony.
John Diyal, Dr Richard Haveel, Advocate Marcos and Vijaish Lal also accompanied Sanglani in the delegation.
