Srinagar: A day after being released on bail by court, Qurat ul Ain’s marriage took place at her residence at Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday with family members, relatives and neighbors praying for her successful married life.
Qurat was scheduled to get married on July 22 (Friday). However, owing to delay in granting of bail to her by the court, her family postponed the marriage by a day.
Qurat’s uncle said she got married to his cousin, who owns a provisional store in the market. “The marriage was performed with simplicity,” he said.
He thanked people and media for raising voice against Qurat’s detention. “Her release was only possible after media highlighted it,” he said.
A woman relative of Qurat said the family had planned a grand function on her marriage. “We had distributed invitation cards among relatives and friends. We had also plans to decorate the house. But after her arrest, we decided to observe marriage with simplicity and austerity,” she said and prayed for successful marriage life of Qurat.
It is pertinent to mention here that Qurat, an Arts graduate, was summoned by the police on July 10 and detained over her alleged involvement in July 6 rifle grenade and IED blast outside police station.
However, CJM, Sopore, Kaiser Qurashi granted bail to her yesterday.
According to her lawyer, court granted bail to her after police failed to substantiate evidences of her involvement in the blast.
