Srinagar: The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani has urged India to give up its intransigence on Kashmir and give the Kashmiris an opportunity to decide their future by themselves.
While talking to a prominent Indian social activist, Swami Agnivesh, Syed Ali Shah Geelani said that the people of India should raise their voice against the atrocities on innocent Kashmiris by the occupation authorities.
Geelani said that New Delhi would not be able to suppress the Kashmiris’ just struggle for right to Self-Determination by arrests, killings and other repressive measures.
All Parties Hurriyat Conference demanded the immediate release of all illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists lodged in different Indian jails.
The APHC spokesman, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that lawlessness was prevailing in Occupied State of Jammu & Kashmir (OSJK) and men in uniform were harassing the ordinary civilians.
The spokesman said that its chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani would address a public gathering in Islamabad on May 20.
The public gathering is part of the awareness campaign launched by the forum to secure the release of political prisoners, he added.
The spokesman rejected the Indian police claim that it had arrested five members of a jehadi group in Pattan area of Baramulla.
“The incident is reminiscent of the Machil fake encounter as in this case too innocent youth have been made the scapegoats for the sake of medals and promotions,” the spokesman maintained.
In Occupied State of Jammu & Kashmir (OSJK), the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), has stressed the political leadership of Pakistan and India to include the genuine leadership of Kashmiris in the dialogue process for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
APHC leader and the JKPM Chairman, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, addressing a party meeting at his residence in Thanamandi, said that the dialogue process would be meaningless without Kashmiris’ inclusion.
He also thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in securing their birth and inalienable right to self-determination.
The JKPM leaders including Qaisar Sajjad Mir, Zafar Khurshid Mirza, Raja Aslam Khan , Sawar Khan and Raja Ajmal Khan also addressed the meeting.
Senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that the unprecedented sacrifices of Kashmir people they have rendered for securing their inalienable right to Self-Determination would not be allowed to go waste.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah addressing a gathering at Banhal said that the people of OSJK have vowed to take the ongoing liberation movement, from Indian occupation, to its logical conclusion at all costs.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah said that the Kashmir dispute had been internationalised due to which the Indian rulers were passing sleepless nights.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah said that the Indian government and its authorities in OSJK, are using brute force to suppress the just struggle of Kashmiri people but they would never succeed in their nefarious designs and the movement would be taken to its logical conclusion despite all odds.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah stressed India to initiate meaningful tripartite dialogue for permanent resolution of the Kashmir dispute so that durable peace in South Asia could be ensured.
