SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday ordered all government employees to participate in the Independence Day functions, advising heads of departments to ensure the presence of officials working under them.

"Independence Day is an important national event celebrated on 15th August every year. All government employees are duty bound to participate in commemorating such an important turning point in the history of our nation,” said a circular issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary to the Government.

“All the officers above the rank of Under Secretaries in the Union territory stationed at Srinagar/Jammu are therefore enjoined upon to attend the main function of the Independence Day Celebration, 2022 at the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Sonawar, Srinagar/Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu respectively, as part of their official duty. Any absence shall be only permissible with prior permission of their immediate superior,” it said.

It asked Administrative Secretaries, Heads of the Departments, Managing Directors/Chief Executives of the Public Sector Undertakings to ensure that all officers/officials working under their administrative control, and stationed at Srinagar/Jammu, attend the function at their respective places.

SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday ordered the renaming of 18 educational establishments and roads after some eminent personalities and the security forces who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Besides, the government also ordered necessary steps to be taken for amending the records for effecting the changes.

According to the news agency KNO, Principal Secretary to Government, General Administration Department (GAD), Manoj Kumar Dwivedi in an order sanctioned an accord for naming infrastructure assets after the 18 ‘slain’ or eminent personalities.

The assets that will be named after these personalities include Government Higher Secondary School Soaf Shali Anantnag, Government Boys Middle School Wanpora Gurez, GMS Chandanwari, GMS Dab, and BMS Kupwara.

The government had also ordered the renaming of UPS Kundlayan; GMS Banday Mohalla Handwara; UPS Kashmiri Manigah; Government Boys Middle School Garhi; Government Boys Middle School Jaganoo; Girls Middle School Muthlal Alanbass; Government Middle School Bagga (Jamslan); MS Butt Pura Dool; MS Sounder; Middle School Chatyari, Panchayat Loorkote; PS Patti; Government Girls Middle School Kheri and Government Primary School Dab Ditta.

According to the order, the School Education Department has been asked to take immediate necessary steps including amending records for effecting the changes.

“Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and Jammu shall personally monitor the naming of infrastructure assets in their respective divisions while the Deputy Commissioners shall ensure that suitable events are held in connection with the naming of these infrastructure assets,” it reads.

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Government has devised criteria for making the healthcare institutions junk free and all Heads of the Department of Health and Medical Education Department have been directed to implement the criteria immediately.

As per the Circular, issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary of the Health and Medical Education Department, all Heads of Departments of Health and Medical Education have been asked to check whether there is any junk material in patient care areas, in open areas, corridors and critical service areas.

The Circular queried whether the hospitals have demarcated space for keeping condemned junk material, documented and implemented condemnation policy, prepared a list of condemned and written off junk material and have a hospital committee to condemn junk material.

"Accordingly, it is impressed upon all the Heads of the Departments of the Health and Medical Education Department to implement the aforesaid criteria in all healthcare Institutions on an immediate basis, so the things that are considered to be unserviceable or un-repaired, can be removed from the hospitals within two months in order to make all healthcare institutions junk free and achieve the target as prescribed in the deliverables within time,” it reads.

It further reads that it is also impressed that they shall submit their action taken or compliance report in this regard to the Administrative Department, as per the prescribed deadlines.
