
SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced the closure of all schools and colleges across the union Territory tomorrow in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions.
The announcement was made by J&K Education Minister Sakina Itoo on social media. “Schools and Colleges across Jammu & Kashmir will remain closed tomorrow in view of inclement weather,” she said.
Officials said that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff.
J&K has witnessed record rainfall over the past two days, triggering flash floods, landslides, and widespread waterlogging.
Many areas in south and central Kashmir are inundated, while the Jhelum river has crossed the flood alert level in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has postponed the online CBT examination for post of Reader, which was scheduled for tomorrow.
According to a notification issued by the Registrar Recruitment, J&K High court, the examination, which was scheduled for August 28 in different centres at Jammu and Srinagar, will now be held on September 13.
The examination has been rescheduled in view of the inclement weather and heavy rainfall.
