SHOPIAN — Three persons were arrested and a cache of arms, ammunition and other material was recovered during a search operation in Narwani village and adjoining orchard areas of Imam Sahib in Shopian district, officials said.
The operation was conducted jointly by 34 Rashtriya Rifles, the Special Operations Group (SOG) Imam Sahib and Police Station Imam Sahib.
During the search, security forces recovered one grenade, two magazines of an AK-47 rifle, four mobile phones and four posters allegedly associated with the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) organisation.
The recovered material was found in an orchard belonging to Nazir Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani, a resident of Narwani, officials said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ashiq Hussain Kumar and Arif Kumar, both residents of Laram Ganjipora, Kulgam, and Harris Manzoor, a resident of Anchidora, Anantnag.
