SRINAGAR — Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Sunday said the abrogation of Article 370 has fully normalised the Union Territory, asserting that Pakistan's persistent objections on Kashmir were outdated and held no relevance.

"Pakistan always has one issue or another. But as for our Kashmir, we are happy being with India—and we always have been. If they want to keep harping on the same old tune, let them," Andrabi told reporters, according to the news agency KNS.

Her remarks came in response to recent statements by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, who described Kashmir as "an important part of India." Andrabi, a senior BJP leader, said the international community was recognising the ground reality in the Valley.

"Now that Article 370 has been revoked, the situation here has normalised, and people are moving forward happily," she said.

Remarks on Opposition parties

Taking aim at domestic Opposition parties, Andrabi said their criticism reflected an inability to accept the country's developmental progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership over the past 12–13 years.

"The Opposition is never happy when someone works hard. They simply cannot digest this success," she said.

She acknowledged, however, that the Opposition's role in a democracy would persist. "Whether in Parliament or the Assembly, their role will always remain. There is no point in trying to stop them," she added.
