SRINAGAR — Following recent inclement weather and subsequent flooding that submerged several school buildings and damaged structures, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir, has announced the resumption of classwork in both government and private schools across the Kashmir Division will take place after safety checks.
Classwork is set to recommence on Monday, September 8, 2025, after ensuring the safety of the school premises. The decision comes in the wake of gusty winds and heavy rains that disrupted normal operations.
To guarantee a safe environment, all Heads of Institutions (HoIs) and staff have been directed to conduct thorough cleanliness and sanitization of classrooms and school premises ahead of the reopening. This measure aims to provide a clean, safe, and hassle-free learning environment for students.
The order, issued by the Director of School Education Kashmir, emphasizes the imperative need to assess and secure school infrastructure before resuming academic activities.
Copies of the directive have been circulated to relevant government officials, including the Secretary of the School Education Department and Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, for information and necessary action.
