JAMMU — In the ongoing investigation into the recent attack in Pahalgam, a Jammu court granted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) five-day custody of two Kashmiri individuals accused of involvement in the deadly incident.

The court order allows the Central anti-militancy agency to keep the duo in its custody until June 27, facilitating further questioning and collection of evidence.

The two accused were earlier detained for their alleged links to the Pahalgam attack, in which militants targeted tourists, leaving 27 casualties.

The NIA, which is spearheading the high-profile probe, sought custody to delve deeper into the suspected wider network and motives behind the strike.

Official sources confirmed that the agency will use the custodial period to interrogate the suspects on logistical support, planning, and any cross-border linkages to militant outfits.

More arrests are likely as the investigation progresses, with the NIA trying hard to dismantle the entire module behind the assault.
