SRINAGAR — With a likely respite from rains till May 5, precipitation of light intensity has been forecasted by the Meteorological Centre Srinagar at scattered places of J&K from May 6 to 7.

As per the news agency CNS, an official from the MeT Centre Srinagar in the latest weather update stated that mainly dry weather would be experienced from May 1 to 5 besides afternoon showers and the occurrence of hail at a few places during the given period.

However, the MeT has also expected light rainfall and thunder at scattered places on 6 and 7 of the next month.

According to the data compiled by the MeT Centre Srinagar, Srinagar received 23.6 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours till 8:30 am today, with Qazigund, Pahalgam, Kupwara, Kokernag, Gulmarg, Konibal, Muzaffarabad and Leh receiving 40.2mm, 41.6mm, 19.8mm, 35.8mm, 21.0mm, 34.0mm, 9.0mm and 0.1mm, respectively.

After anticipating dry weather in J&K from tomorrow, the MeT has advised farmers to resume farm operations from May 1 (Wednesday).
