BARAMULLA — A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel reportedly took his own life with his service rifle in northern Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday, according to officials.

Sources deemed reliable by a local news agency revealed that a jawan serving in the 92nd Battalion met his demise after allegedly shooting himself with his service rifle during the afternoon hours.

The official further informed that the deceased's body was shifted to GMC Baramulla for a thorough autopsy.

Amidst the unfolding tragedy, the local police have initiated an investigation into the matter, marking the official acknowledgement of the incident.
