SRINAGAR — A 65-year-old man on Thursday evening jumped into river Jhelum in Zainakadal area of central Kashmir's Srinagar district on Thursday evening.
Reliable sources quoted by a Srinagar-based news agency said that an elderly man (name withheld), a resident of Bilal Colony Zakoora, jumped in the river near MR Gunj.
Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched at the site to bring the man out from the river. No success has, however, been achieved at the time of filing of this report.
