SRINAGAR — Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Vijay Kumar, revealed on Tuesday that there are currently only 25 local militants operating in the valley. Notably, Srinagar, the summer capital, has only one local militant, Momim, remaining active.

Speaking at the Police Control Room, ADGP Vijay Kumar, according to a local news agency, stressed the significant reduction in the number of militants in Kashmir, now totalling 25.

Kumar elaborated that while approximately 20-25 foreign militants still lurk in forested areas of the valley, the overall militant presence has dwindled.

This announcement follows the recent apprehension of militant Abid Manzoor Langoo, the main accused involved in the killing of two Punjab workers, in a Srinagar attack.
