
SRINAGAR — Mehbooba Mufti, former Chief Minister and President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), narrowly escaped injury on Thursday when her vehicle was involved in an accident in the Sangam area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
According to officials, the incident occurred on the roadside in Sangam. Despite the mishap, Mehbooba Mufti emerged unharmed, while her driver sustained minor injuries to his leg.
"Ms Mufti’s car met with a terrible accident en route Anantnag today. Thanks to the grace of God, she and her security officers escaped unhurt without any serious injuries," her daughter Iltija Mufti said.
A police officer, confirming the incident, stated that authorities promptly responded to the situation. Mufti continued her journey safely to Khanabal, where she planned to meet victims of a recent fire.
