SRINAGAR — A school student from Baramulla drowned to death in Sonamarg area of central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Saturday.
An official said that a student of Public School Baramulla, who was on a picnic with school, drowned in river Sindh while taking a bath.
He said that the boy, identified as Shoaib Farooq Chachi (14) son of Farooq Ahmad Chachi and resident of Chandousa Baramulla, was taken to PHC Sonamarg where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation in this connection.
