SRINAGAR — A 24-year-old youth on Thursday allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Keegam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
As per an official quoted by the news agency CNS, the youth (name withheld) was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
He said that after the completion of medical and legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites.
Meanwhile, a police official said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in this regard and further investigation has been initiated.
