PULWAMA — A decomposed dead body of an Awantipora man was recovered from the area nearby his residence on Tuesday.
As per reports, 70-year-old Abdul Rashid Shah, son of Noor Muhammad Shah, a resident of Pathgaam Noorpora, Awantipora, who was a retired employee of PDD, went missing from his home four and a half months ago. Despite a thorough search, no trace of him could be found.
On Tuesday morning, his decomposed body was recovered from a cave outside his house, after which sensation spread throughout the area.
The police reached the scene of the incident and took the body in their custody for the completion of medico-legal formalities. Later, his body was handed over to the legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, Police Station Awantipora has registered a case and further investigations are set into motion.
