BUDGAM — A Defence Security Corps (DSC) personnel has allegedly committed suicide at old airfield in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Reports reaching the news agency KDC said that a Defence Security Corps personnel has allegedly committed suicide from his service rifle at his unit, 615 DSC Platoon First Wing Airforce, identified as Head Constable Malkit Singh (52), a resident of Chakoke, a tehsil of Dahilwan district Kapurthala of Punjab state.
A police officer confirmed the incident and said the body was taken to District Hospital Budgam for medico-legal formalities where the body was shifted to GMC Srinagar along with a police party for further formalities.
"The cognizance of this incident has been taken and further investigation has been set into motion," he added.
