
SRINAGAR — An unidentified militant and an Indian Army soldier were killed when an infiltration bid was foiled by the Army in the Tangdhar sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday.
Official sources, as per news agency GNS, said that one unidentified militant was killed during the infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector while a search for other militants is going on.
Meanwhile, an Army trooper of 6-JAK Rifle identified as Jasvir Singh also received a bullet wound during the exchange of fire. He was shifted to a hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
"One AK-47, four pistols, three AK-47 magazines, three pistol magazines, five hand grenades and ammunition recovered from the possession of the slain militant," they said.
