Srinagar: J&K Police Tuesday evening said that it arrested one Hizb worker identified as Ghulam Ahmad Sofi alias Jany Baba son of Mohammad Subhan Sofi resident of Juhama Baramulla.
“02 live grenades and a satellite phone were recovered from his possession. He was involved in recruiting local youth for terrorist activities. In this regard a case FIR number 84/16 under section 7/25 Arms Act has been registered in Police Station Baramulla,” J&K Police spokesperson said in a statement.
“During the course of investigation it was found that he was affiliated with banned militant organization Hizb-ul-Mujahidin and was working for the revival and expansion of the banned outfit in the Kashmir Valley, particularly in Baramulla. Further investigation in this matter is going on,” the spokesperson added.
