Selling on Facebook
Indore: An Indore man allegedly put his wife on 'sale' on Facebook. The post stated that the buyer can do anything with her and the cost mentioned was Rs 1 lakh.
The police had promptly initiated action and registered a case against accused Dilip Mali while he pleaded innocence. Dilip Mali said that he has not logged into his Facebook account from past six months.
Dilip Mali said that someone probably hacked into his account and shared the post, which has now been deleted. The post had the picture of Mali's wife along her biodata.
The incident came to light on Sunday evening when Mali's brother-in-law saw the post and informed the sister about it. The police have registered a case under Section 509 of the Indian penal Code after the woman's complaint.
The couple have been married for 3 years and also have a daughter. The woman informed the Aerodrome police station that the family had moved to Shubham Nagar from Khargone district nearly three months ago.
She alleged that Mali probably did this since he desperately needed money to pay back his loans. She mentioned about the surprise visits by the money lenders at their old residence following which they had to move.
