Pulwama: A Mega Cricket Tournament was organized by Valley Super League (VSL) at Sports Stadium Pulwama here today.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Mr. Asgar Hassan Samoon inaugurated the tournament. Dr. Samoon was accompanied by DDC Pulwama Mr. Niraj Kumar and SSP Pulwama.
Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner said extracurricular activities are imperative for overall development of the students and the Government has initiated various measures to provide adequate facilities in the educational institutions. He urged the players to work hard for achieving better performance in sports events. He said that these events will provide much needed exposure to the players.
DDC said Pulwama District has no dearth of talents but there was a need to explore the same in a big way.
International Cricket Player from Kashmir Mr. Parvaiz Rasool was guest of honour on the occasion.
Youth Services & Sports Officer, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Officer of allied departments, media persons and huge gathering of locals were also present on the occasion.
