Pulwama: Two rebels have been killed in an encounter at Goosu village of south Kashmir's Pulwama district. The slain rebels have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad of Alochibagh Samboora and another is a foreign national.

The government forces compromising of Indian army units, paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force and the local anti-insurgency police had on Wednesday late afternoon cordoned Goosu, Ishmender, Wahibug and Godur village in the southern district, which has seen a renewed anti-India insurgency since 2010.

A top police official said that the two rebels got killed who had taken shelter in the house of a villager Altaf Ahmad Dar.
