[youtube src="ueBxE84QhEk"/] New Delhi: A female reporter of NDTV 24×7 channel on Saturday was allegedly jeered and heckled by participants of March For India rally. In this video, a female journalist of NDTV is seen leaving the spot while the protesters raising slogans against the channel.
In the video, NDTV’s Bhairavi Singh, who was reporting on the march to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, is seen surrounded by angry protesters. According to reports, people participating in the protest against those returning awards over “rising intolerance”, surrounded and heckled Bhairavi Singh and NDTV crew members during the march led by actor Anupam Kher and director Madhur Bhandarkar. Eye-witnesses also claim that abusive words were hurled at Bhairavi and she was misbehaved by the protesters.
Later, a police team intervened and escorted Bhairavi to safety. People, who were protesting there, accused media of politically motivated and biased reporting. They also alleged that some news channels and newspapers are encouraging the artists who returned their awards protesting against rising intolerance in the country.
Bollywood actor Anupam Kher led a march to the Rashtrapati Bhavan to counter the protests by writers, artists and others against “rising intolerance”, voicing concern over the “wrong projection” of India by those returning their awards.
