Kangan: A free medical-cum-veterinary camp was organized by 24 Rashtriya Rifles today at Margund, Kangan in Ganderbal.
“The camp evoked a phenomenal response as for the first time in this area a large team of doctors including lady doctors and veterinary doctors were brought together under one roof to perform a free health check up. Over 800 patients of all age groups including children, women and more than 100 animals from in and around Kangan village were provided free medical aid and medicines by qualified medical experts from both civil organization and Army",  a member doctor revealed.
The medical-cum-veterinary camp was inaugurated by C.O., G S Khular and Karnal Sanjay Sharma.
C.O., G S Khular said that this camp was specially organized to mitigate the problems of the Awaam in the remote area and provide medical facility to the needy at their doorstep.
“This initiative was well received by the public as a positive step in reinforcing ties between security forces and the local population", Khular said.
