Srinagar: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the reputed and premier, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Gwalior to facilitate and boost the academic and research support to tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir.
CUK Registrar, Prof M Afzal Zargar, signed the MoU, on behalf of the University, with the IITTM, Director, Prof Sandeep Kulshreshtha, in the presence of the secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Dr Lalit Pawar. The MoU was signed during the Directors Conclave, held at Gwalior, which was attended by top notch tourism experts and industrialists across the country and globe. Head Department of Tourism Studies, CUK, Prof Syed Fayaz also attended the conclave.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Lalit Pawar expressed huge satisfaction over the signing of the MoU between these two central institutes of learning for reaping the benefits for the State of J&K, which is the pioneering and focal head of Tourism in India. The Ministry of Tourism, GOI, congratulated both the institutions and hoped that mutually benefitive processes would be activated to realize the true contours of the MoU.
While underscoring the need of the MoU, Prof M Afzal Zargar said at the conclave that the MoU would open new vistas to enrich the academic support to one of the largest industries in J&K.
