Srinagar: At a time when people have lost their homes, livelihood and are struggling for survival in flood hit Srinagar, a chain of private schools has asked the parents to clear the dues by October 12 or else late fee would be imposed.
The diktat of the school authorities has drawn severe criticism from flood hit public circles. “Nobody will run away with the school fee of their kids but this is just not the right time to harass people. This is sheer exploitation of flood victims,” said a delegation of parents.
Last month when City was deluged, one such school at Humhama had asked the parents to complete admissions of their wards and deposit fee.
With Directorate of School Education Kashmir allegedly miserably failing to act, such private schools are taking parents for a ride. The parents have appealed the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Rohit Kansal to look into the matter.
