Srinagar: The Cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah decided that the annual examinations of the under-graduate classes of Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division shall be held in March, 2015 instead of October-November, 2014.
It also decided that the same examination schedule shall apply in the Kashmir division and the winter zone of the Jammu division in the School Education Department.
The decision was taken in view of the damages caused to the infrastructure of schools and higher education institutions in the state by the floods.
The government withdrew its earlier handout regarding annual examination for students of class I to XII, Commissioner secretary Nirmal Sharma said.
He said since the cabinet decided to hold examination of students in March next year and the earlier order of holding the exams in October and November must be deemed as withdrawn.
