Jammu: Amid speculations over the delay of three months in the bi-annual ‘Durbar Move’, the government has started the process and directed for closure of move offices on October 31.
The Secretariat would shift on October 31 and offices would reopen in Jammu on November 10, Greater Kashmir reported.
There were speculations in administrative circles that government may opt for delaying bi-annual move to expedite the rehabilitation of the flood victims across Kashmir.
Sources said the advance party consisting of Gazetted Officer and some Non-Gazetted employees would leave for Jammu on October 21 to receive the records at Civil Secretariat, where the offices would reopen after six months on November 10.
Official source added that Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) has been asked to make sufficient number of buses and trucks available for the transportation of advance parties and official documents.
The decision to close move office in Srinagar on October 31, according to the sources, was taken during a high level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
