Pulwama: A very disturbing news is coming from South Kashmir’s Kakapora where two villages are on the brink of being washed off after a breach in Jhelum put all administrative measures out of gear.
The two villages, Oukho and Marwal house thousands of people, a senior civil administrative officer said. “All rescue measures have been rendered useless in these villages,” he said. “Even boats can’t ferry people due to ferocious pace of Jhelum.”
The officer said that there is ‘no way out’ for thousands of people in these villages. “Only air force can help,” he said. “But I fear the worst.”
Earlier, 9 army men were washed off near these villages while rescuing the villagers.
